I'm in the process of a rebuild on a 73-74 250 motor and was wondering about the screws that hold the bearing retainers on. What do most of you do? Buy new screws and use a punch to set them (stock) after they have been tightened? Or use loctite? Any info would be helpful.
thanks

I reuse them and repunch them. Either the bolts stretch slightly or my torque wrench is off because they have never torqued back exactly to the original position. I would think either of your ideas is much sounder than mine, though.
