Hello !

I have almost finish to restore my CR 125 1977. I am French guy and spare parts are less easier to find in France. Here I would like to give my feedback and wrong experience about ECP Elsinore dealer. (As you will understand I do not recommend to make any deal with this company !!! )

Prior to read this, you may excuse me for my poor English ….

Actually , I placed an important order to them for most of important parts such like cylinder ( with new boring and new piston) , new front and rear fender, front number plate, complete low end bearing seals & gaskets , used but nice front wheel (120 USD) , complete sprocket and chain kit, Gem reed cage, complete new decal, oval background etc …..

After few discussions and several email with them, we made agreement for my order with a clear list of products. I made several phone call and they confirmed they have everything in their warehouse. So I paid them…

4 weeks later ( they delayed more than one week…thank you ), I receive one carton from them . This carton was really damaged and parts inside were packed without any conscience ! (absolutely no protection) Anyway, by chance nothing was broken ….such lucky ! But after inspection, I ‘ve got a bad surprise. There was many missing part including the front wheel , oval background, used side cover, new mag cover ……….. ! I made phone call and I was explained that their company which are responsible for packing & shipping made a mistake and forgot some parts! ( So strange I never see a company which don’t make packing & shpping by themselves…anyway) . The other bad surprise comes from front number panel ( new reproduction) with a beautiful bracket wrongly positioned ( 15° out of axe ….I can send the picture to anyone) …not really serious, but I need to make new hole and to hide previous wrong hole !!)

3 weeks later, I received a new carton . ( Totally 7 weeks from my original order) Once again the packing is not really strong …anyway there is no damage. But once again big joke !!!!

-we made a deal for a good front wheel with nice appearance at 120 USD . But the wheel I received has many big scratch on the rim. Moreover, there is 2 broken spoke and 80% of the nipple are completely squared ! (thank you so much, I need to buy complete new spoke set )
-the side panel is still missing !!! ( than you so much , now I must delay the painting with the painting company )
-still no oval background
-the mag cover ( replica) is made of plastic (and not in aluminium) and the finish quality is a nightmare . (moulding is very raw / many smudge and the shape doesn’t match perfectly with the crank case) . Attention, they sell this item on EBAY …from the picture it is really nice ….but in reality, this is a bullshit ! ( sorry for my tone but it must be said !)
-the rubber strap for side cover are certainly made by the same supplier than the mag cover. It is really ugly with many smudges and approximate moulding quality .

After my phone call, they accept to refund the price of missing side panel . Good . But they refused to refund a discount for the poor wheel they provided . At that time they suggested they could offer something to me for all the trouble …. Until today I didn’t received any refund but in the meantime I discovered another troubles from their part
- the chain they provided is too short !!! ( at least 10mm) ……..I need to buy a new chain ! Thank you so much
- as the finish of the mag cover is poor, I decided to make new painting on it . ( HI temp painting). As this expensive epoxy hi temp painting need to be dried into oven (150°c) , I try it ……………….what bad idea !!!!! The painting was nearly transformed into a jelly cake….
- I bought a new piston , with new axe and clips . Oh…. It seems the new axe is not “new” and it is definitely too short (at least 5mm of gap between the extremities and clips)

Definitively, this company is not serious !!!!! Although they are nice at phone and always try to find some unbelievable excuse, they are joking about their customers !

I don’t want to make any new deal with them and I strongly recommend to be extremely prudent if you want to make deal with them .

Thank to Nathan for the space !!!

PS: I’ve made deal with CMS NL it was perfect , on time and without any bad surpise
I’ve made deal with Vingtage factory for the oval background and it was perfect !

I bought a chamber off them and the only trouble I had was. After a couple of weeks I sent them a email saying that I hadn't recieved it. The next day they sent me a email saying sorry the paper work wasn't filled out correctly and it was sitting in customs in Australia and that it was going to being returned to them so they sent me another and I had it in 6 days. I have been waiting since 1st April for a chain tensioner to arrive.

Have been assured it is going to be shipped but nothing has arrived as yet.

Has anyone else had / having shipping problems with ECP??

The goods are fine when they arrive but they seem to be a bit flakey when it comes to shipping them.

I waited 6 months to get a front and rear fender. After about 30 emails (I've kept all of them) they finally sent me the items. I was given every excuse why they hadn't shipped. The paint job on the fenders was disappointing.

Good to know when vendors don't perform.... I have dealt with two, Vintage Iron and Vintage Elsinores. Vintage Iron is great, pricey but great. They answer the phone, return a message, send you the product you ordered quickly and if you have sent them an item to have some work performed they do it and get it back to you. Lets just say I can't say the same about Vintage Elsinores...........
