hi
i have bought a cr250 in poor condition but is mostly there,po said it runs.heaps of compression but kick starter jumps out. i bought it for the unmarked tank for my 1973 cr250 that i am restoring.it was a farm bike so it hasent been looked after, back off the frame has been cut off.are these as collectable as the 73/74 or just an other pre 78 vmx bike.all opinions welcome

They are collectible, but not worth as much as 73-74. In addition to the rear frame being cut, the frame has been modified with extra gussets on the back and the top of the shocks moved forward. So it will be hard to restore without a new frame.
If you are going for a pristine resto on your other bike, this tank is different in more than color. The bottom of the right side of the tank is indented for the exhaust. Only a Elsinorephobe would probably notice, though.

I'd pretty it up just a bit and run it.
