Has anyone tried one of the plastic tanks from http://www.re-mx.com/cr/cr125_cr250.php
I emailed them a couple times asking that they clearify the comment about the tank being shorter but no reply.
I'd like to know what they mean by shorter:
The mounting holes don't line up with stock mounts?
or The seat and tank will have a gap?
or The tank is not as close to the triple clamps as stock?
or The tank is not as tall from the underside to the fuel cap?

If anyone has had experience with these tanks I'd like to hear about it. Or if you know of another place to purchase plastic tanks that fit a 74 CR250M that would be great too.

Thanks,

No sooner then I posted this I got an email from re-mx. Here is what they wrote if anyone is interested. and I'd still like to hear if you got one and what you think about it.

Jim,
The tank is for the CR250 but instead of the length butting up to the seat
it is shorter than the stock tank and there is a gap there. I have sold a
few of them with no returns or issues.

I got the tank and it looks real nice. It is just a bit shorter at the rear. not in the length but in the curve at the seat area. I haven't mounted it yet but when I do I'll take a picture and post it in case anyone else is racing their CR250M and want to save the stock tank.
Cheers,

Yodadada - I am very interested in hearing how it goes with mounting. I have been looking at buying one from Dan (who I find great to buy from) but also was worried about how it mounts. Apparently Vintage Elsinores has a bracket made to mount the tank but they wont answer my emails about buying one - so thats as far as I have got.

let me know how you go would you?

cheers

Rossco

It looks like it mounts just like the stock tank. All three mounting holes are in the same place. Not like another tank I called about that uses a center mount.
Give me a couple days and I'll post a picture of the tank.

I mounted the Clark Plastic Tank and it looks good. There was a big gap when I mounted my GP seat on the bike but only a small gap with the stock seat. The picture is with the stock seat.

that looks good - and uses the stock mounting points? I wonder why there was the worry about the tank then?

cheers
