Does anyone know if the gear ratios are different on the mr and mt trannys?

Yes, they are. It looks like the MR gearbox has a wider spread than the MT, just as with the MR175 and MT125.

MR250 2.533 1.789 1.250 0.929 0.718
MT250 2.235 1.571 1.160 0.896 0.718
CR250 2.055 1.571 1.250 1.038 0.862
