Need help with timing a motor I recently bought. 74 cr250,I think it has a MR crank in it. I cant rotate the Stator far enough to get my 1.5mm. point gap at .016. I notice my other CR Motor has a female end on the crank and this one has a male end.

Thanks
Jim

The ends of the crankshafts I've seen look the same. But if you've got a MR crank in a '73-'74 engine, it is likely your piston is going to hit the cylinder head unless someone put a shorter rod on it. Can't answer your timing question, but on the MR, you can't make much, or any change to your timing other than the gap in the points.
