I actually did this swap on an MR175, using the CR125M CDI ignition. It was by far the biggest single improvement I made to the bike. It was pretty much a bolt-on deal once the CDI box and coil were mounted. I recently found out that CR125M rotor/stator sets must be used as a pair (with matching numbers) or the timing marks will be useless, so that's one thing to watch out for.

From what I could find on the Web, it doesn't seem that CR250M ignition components will work on the MR motor.
If the CDI upgrade works even half as well on your bike as it did on mine, I think you'll be
real happy.
