Does anyone know where I can acquire some aftermarket tapered steering stem bearings to replace the old loose ball bearings and races on my 1974 CR 125? :?:

Don't know if this will help but denniskirk.com has them but does not list them for 74 model. It starts at 76, however by looking at the part# all small hondas with the exception of the cr80's and the 79 and up cr125"s use the same part # which is 50-5737. Maybe someone else knows or you could order them and try them

Same results as above listing starts at 76 but at 78 they used diffrent ones just about every year. I dont have a chance to check today, but I have the parts list for cr250m and I'll check if Honda used the same bearings on the 76 MR as they do have a listing for the MR

I checked out the 76 MR parts list and 73/74 CR list and the Honda part #'s are the same for the original bearings and races. You could try the tapered ones for the MR and let us all know if they fit

Measure the diameter of steering tube and shaft.
Your nearest bearing supply store should be able to find a set in their metric catalogue .

I just ordered a set of the '76 tapered bearings from Dennis Kirk. I'll let you all know if they fit the '74.

I recieved the Moose tapered stearing stem bearings from Dennis Kirk the other day (listed for '76-'78 CR125). The dimensions are identical to the stock 1974 ones so I installed them on my '74 CR125 and they work just fine. I spoke to the tech guy at Dennis Kirk who should be making the adjustment to their "Models Fit" description on their website. Spread the word! :D

I don't know how the price compares to Dennis Kirk.
